PRAIRIE VIEW MAN WANTED FOR HUNTSVILLE MURDER

A Prairie View man is being sought for a Huntsville murder.

Tyrone Harris
(Walker Co. Jail)

Investigators say two men broke into a Huntsville home back in April. The home owner opened fire killing one of them. Now, the other burglar is facing a murder charge.

Investigators say 40-year-old Tyrone Harris and 39-year-old Holice Dun Cook were robbing a house when the owner returned home.  Both were shot and Cook died at the scene.

The Walker County Grand Jury recently indicted Harris for Cook’s death.

Walker County Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Stroud said, "Harris is charged with felony murder because the death of his co-defendant happened during the course of a felony."

Walker County District Attorney David Weeks said police are searching for Harris, who fled the hospital before charges could be filed.

Harris faces five to 99 years in prison if he's convicted of murder, but his case can't proceed until he's found and taken into custody. The homeowner is not facing any charges for the shooting.0

Harris was also indicted for burglary of a habitation. Harris served about two and a half years in Texas prison for two counts of robbery in Jefferson County

  1. Perfect example of why we need guns to protect ourselves!!! What would have happened if the owner wouldn’t of had a gun. I hope and pray America does not ban guns. Then only the criminals who find a way to get guns would be the only ones armed. GET IT??????

    1. Police dont stop crimes. The police will hopefully solve them. Some intelligent people believe when someones holding a weapon to someone else’s throat, the victim should be able to control the criminals. Not too bright! Not their throat! KEEP your guns, help stop the criminals ,not solve the crimes.
