PUBLIC DISCUSSIONS ON PARKS MASTER PLAN

Wendy Ragonis, the Administrative Services Manager for the City of Brenham, told the City Council at today’s (Thursday’s) meeting that  the parks advisory board has begun to develop a parks and recreation master plan.

Ragonis said they have been working with Dr. Jo Ann Zimmerman of Texas State University in San Marcos to guide the staff  throughout the process. She said a series of public meetings will be part of that process.  They will hold six to eight meetings on April 21st and 23rd.

Funding for this  master plan was provided by the Brenham Community Development Corporation at their January meeting.

The master plan process includes workshops,  an understanding of the demographics of the city, an asset map, data analysis and the drafting of the overall plan.    Ragonis says all this should be done by August.
