PUBLIC HEARINGS SET FOR HIGH SPEED RAIL PROJRCT

  

Ten public hearings have been scheduled in January and February for areas affected by a proposed high speed train connecting Houston to Dallas, with a stop in Grimes County.

Earlier this month, the Federal Railroad Administration released its Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the project planned by Texas Central Partners. The report goes into great detail the impacts the project could have along its suggested route.

A public comment period is currently underway and will end on February 20th.

Representatives from Texas Central and the Federal Railroad Administration will be available at each of ten public hearings, including:

Grimes County, Tuesday, February 6, 6:00. to 10:00 p.m. Navasota Middle School.

Waller County, Tuesday, February 6, 5 to 9 p.m. Waller High School.

Hearings will also be held in

Dallas County, Monday, January 29, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wilmer-Hutchins High School, Dallas.

Navarro County, Monday, January 29, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Corsicana Middle School.

Ellis County, Tuesday, January 30, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Ennis High School.

Leon County, Tuesday, January 30, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Leon High School, Jewett.

Limestone County, Wednesday, January 31, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mexia High School.

Freestone County, Wednesday, January 31, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fairfield High School.

Madison County, Monday, February 5, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Madisonville.

Harris County, Monday, February 5, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Woodard Elementary School, Cypress.
