PUBLIC WARNED OF “HAY” SCAM

  

KWHI has learned of a scam involving the sale of hay bales.

Authorities are saying that some people are purchasing hay that is not being delivered.

Officials are urging anyone who purchases hay locally to thoroughly research someone you are going to buy hay from.

They also remind the public to not give out their credit card numbers or any other financial information to strangers—and, not to pay until the hay has been delivered.

If you are the victim of such a scam, contact the sheriff’s office or police department immediately.
