RABIES ALERT IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

Brenham Authorities have issued another rabies alert.

Monday, a skunk was destroyed at approximately 3pm near the 1500 block of Simon Ave., southeast of the Washington County Fairgrounds.

The skunk was tested by the Department of State Health Services and tested positive for rabies.

If you believe you or someone else may have come in physical contact with this animal, please call:  Brenham Animal Control at 979-337-7592 or the State Department of Health Services Zoonosis Control at 254-778-6744.

Officials remind the public that it is important their animals are currently vaccinated against Rabies.

  1. Will you post a map showing location of all nine rabid animals in county so far this year, and keep it updated as other cases pop up? I think we need to know where they are, and that they are not all confined to one small area.
