RANEY REELECTED TO DISTRICT 14 SEAT
The man who led an unsuccessful attempt to take funding from Blinn College’s Brenham campus will be returning to Austin.
John Raney, who represents District 14, easily defeated former College Station City councilman Jess Fields in the Republican primary.
During the last legislative session, Raney tried unsuccessfully to divert funding for Blinn College’s Brenham campus to the campus in his home district of Bryan.
House Bill – 1903 was overwhelmingly defeated, 92-42 on the House floor.
Raney has no Democratic opponent in November.
