READING OF DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE SET FOR THIS MORNING

In celebration of Independence Day, the Washington County Bar Association is holding its 2nd annual reading of the Declaration of Independence.  This morning at 7:45, members of the Washington County Bar Association will gather at the Gazebo at the courthouse to read the Declaration of Independence.

The reading of the Declaration is an annual tradition that was started in 2010 by Houston lawyer Robert Fickman.  Readings by lawyers and patriots will take place in front of all 254 Texas courthouses, covering all county seats. Houston continues to lead Texas with the largest gathering, boasting over 100 local attorneys, judges and Houstonians in attendance, but last year Brenham had 58.

This year’s event will again be led by Robbie Gail Charette, the Washington County Bar Association’s Treasurer.  To learn more about this event, please contact Robbie Gail Charette at (888) 760-1897 or email rgcharette@sbcglobal.net

  1. Thank God for freedom! Because other countries r being destroyed in terror by ISIS! Now they want us to be destroyed! Remember freedom is a gift and can be taken away fast! I’m thankful Franklin Graham is praying with thousands at every Capitol in America! We should pray often and be thankful for freedom!
