RECORDS BROKEN AT AUSTIN CO. YOUTH LIVESTOCK SALE

  

Eight different records were broken Friday at the Austin County Fair Youth Livestock Sale at the fairgrounds in Bellville.

The Grand Champion Filly shown by Laurie Robbins was sold for a record $22,500 to William Ranch Company.  The Reserve Champion Pen of Heifers shown by Rylan Reichardt was bought by Sandy Creek Ranch for a record $30,000.  Heather Roland’s Reserve Champion Filly went for $19,000 to Ramro, LLC.  The Reserve Champion Gelding shown by Robbin Rice was sold to James and Becca Edmiston for a record $18,000.

Other records included Tommy and Kim Castille buying Cory Barrett’s Reserve Champion Halter Heifer for $16,000;  Jordyn Davila’s Reserve Champion Lamb going for $10,000 to Russell Marine;  The Reserve Champion Broilers shown by Rhys Reichardt being bought by Sim-Tex for $7000;  and the Mark Chapman Foundation buying the Reserve Champion Turkey Tom of Ronald James Fitch III for $6500.

There’ll be more buying today (Saturday) at the Austin County Fair as the Country Fair Auction begins at 1:00 p.m.  Other highlights for today (Saturday) include the Stick Horse Rodeo at 2:00, followed by Mutton Bustin at the Livestock Arena.  The Parade of Tractors is scheduled for 3:00.  Tonight (Saturday) Koe Wetzel takes the stage at 7:00, followed by Zane Williams at 9:00, and The Charlie Daniels Band at 11:00.  This is the final night of the PRCA Rodeo at the Koerth Arena, starting at 7:30.
