REP. LEIGHTON SCHUBERT SPEAKS AT LEGISLATIVE FORUM
State Representative Leighton Schubert gave his review of the most recent Texas legislature session during a Lunch forum today (Tuesday). The forum was sponsored by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and was held at the Brenham Country Club.
Schubert answered many questions from the audience on topics ranging from public school funding to property tax reform to Blinn College. He emphasized that he is for limited government. Schubert stated that one of his biggest concerns for the next session is the budget and that true property tax reform cannot happen until the state fixes how it funds public education.
