RIBBON CUT FOR NEW SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER

  

A large crowd was on hand this (Thursday) morning for the ribbon cutting at the new Margarete E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center.  The new center opened on the first of this month.  It is located on East Tom Green Street on property donated by John and Julie Kenjura.  The 18,000 square foot center was built totally with donations at a cost of over three million dollars.  Senior Center board member Dr. Gary Appelt talked about the completion of the center:

The official flag raising was also performed this morning by the Brenham High School Junior ROTC.  The flags were donated by Russell Kohring of the Woodmen of the World organization.  He pledged that they would supply the flags for the center for years to come.
