ROBBERY “VICTIM” ARRESTED

  

A Brenham man was the victim of a robbery, but wound up being arrested himself.

Saturday afternoon, Officer Heather Sowders was called out to the 700 block of Weldon Trace in reference to a fight.

The caller said three males were fighting and one had been jumped.

The man who had been jumped, 27-year old Zachary Connor Sumrall of Brenham says he was driving around trying to sell some merchandise when he was jumped by two male subjects who stole his items then ran off.

Sumrall admitted to Investigator Joseph Merkley that the merchandise was marijuana and the suspects were customers who weren’t pleased with the quality of his merchandise.

Sumrall says that’s when the two attacked him and stole his possessions, which totaled about $820.

Sumrall was arrested and charged with:Possession of marijuana under 2 oz.
