ROSE EMPORIUM TO HOST ANNUAL FESTIVAL

This weekend, The Antique Rose Emporium in Independence will hold its 26th annual Fall Festival of Roses.

Beginning today and running through Sunday, the Emporium will be offering free seminars ranging from growing bulbs to brewing beer.

One of the seminars will involve a presentation by Randy Shoup, son of Antique Rose Emporium owners Mike and Jean Shoup, discussing how beer is made, and how older and different processes and techniques create more complex flavors in beer, similar to how Belgian beers are created. Shoup brews beer has a hobby.

On Sunday, among the scheduled presentations on Sunday, Mike Shoup will feature a tour of Antique Rose Emporium’s growing fields.

Admission is free. A food truck will be on the grounds Friday and Saturday.
