ROTARY AWARDS LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS; ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD

The Rotary Club of Washington County has announced the completion of $82,600 in charity donations for this year with the awarding of $9,000 in student scholarships.

Four $1,500 scholarships went to Brenham High School students Zachary Barnes, Harper Groves, Juan Vargas and Dalton Walla and two $1,500 scholarships were awarded to Brenham Christian Academy students Bailey Martinez and Sarah McClure.

The club has also installed the new board for the 2016-2017 year, including: President, Kurt Podeszwa; Past President, Brett Smith; and board members: Leslie Wood, Fred Moorhead, Sharon Brass, Daphne Kohring, Gena Wilimitis, Page Michel, Kathleen Callahan, Ken Burgess, Christi Yackel, Brice Milliorn, Lowell Ogle, and Bernie Willimitis.
