ROUND TOP ANTIQUES FAIR COMING NEXT WEEK

In just under a week, antique collectors and shoppers of all kind will gather from all around the country to enjoy the 49th Round Top Antiques Fair.roundtop-copy

The Original Round Top Antiques Fair began in 1968 and is considered “the one that started it all”. Now, thousands of people flock to Round Top each fall to take part in one of the best antique shows in the nation.

Susan Franks, who oversees the Original Round Top Antiques Fair, says there’s a specific reason why the event is such a success each year:

The heart of the fair is the collection of antiques located in The Big Red Barn. The 30,000 square foot barn hosts an array of beautifully displayed early Americana, Texas primitive, and Continental furniture and accessories.

The Continental Tent showcases European furnishings, art and jewelry. Each venue is unique and distinctive, featuring knowledgeable vendors ready to answer questions about their antiquities. The Carmine Dance Hall, located a few miles away in the community of Carmine, offers an assortment of antiques for the home including linens, fine sterling silver flatware and hollow ware and country furniture.

Beginning Monday, September 26th, visitors can shop beginning at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for $20, which includes the rest of the week and parking. After 1 p.m. the fee is $10 for the entire week. Monday and Tuesday, there is a special late night opportunity for visitors to shop until 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday the hours will be 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday will be the last day of the event from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
