SALES TAX REBATES UP IN BRENHAM AND WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

The monthly sales tax rebates for the City of Brenham and Washington County have both seen increases for June.

Brenham’s June rebate was $530,122, which is a 6.2 percent increase over this same time last year, which was $499,068.

For the year to date, Brenham has received $3,142,492, an 8.1 percent increase from last year’s $2,907,173.

Washington County’s rebate for June was $215,704, up 1 percent from the $212,988 during the same period last year.

The county’s rebates for the year thus far are $1,285,736, up 4.4 percent from $1,231,585 in 2014.

Burton’s rebate this month was down just $29, from $3717 last June, to $3,688, this month.

For the year, Burton has received $17,033, a 4.3 percent drop from  $17,803 , last year.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue was $2.6 billion, up 5.2 percent compared to 2014.

This is the 62nd consecutive month of growth in sales tax collections, state-wide.
