SALES TAX REVENUE UP IN BRENHAM, BURTON, AND COUNTY

  

Sales tax revenue to the City of Brenham was up in the October payment from the State Comptrollers Office. Sales tax receipts went up by 1.25 percent compared to one year ago.  Brenham will receive just over $500,000 from the state for their share of sales tax collected in the month of August.  So far this year, sales tax receipts are up by 5.19 percent for the city of Brenham.

Burton saw a huge jump in its payment from the state in October.  Burton will receive $6,192 which is 58 percent higher than a year ago.  Burton is running 85 percent ahead of a year ago in sales tax receipts.

Washington County saw a 14 percent rise in its share of sales tax in October.  The county will receive $220,720 for its share of sales tax collected in August.  The county is 8.17 percent ahead in payments from the state compared to last year.
