SANTA FE SUSPECT APPEARS IN COURT

Ten people are confirmed dead, ten others wounded, in yesterday’s early-morning school shooting at Santa Fe High School, south of Houston.

17-year old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, was taken into custody and is charged with ten counts of murder.

Police say they found a number of explosive devices, located both at the school, and at a site off campus.

Governor Greg Abbott said at a press conference yesterday, that Pagourtzis had intended to kill himself but gave up to police before he could take his own life.

Late Friday afternoon, Pagourtzis appeared before Galveston County Magistrate Judge Mark Henry.  The teen acknowledged understanding the charges, only saying "yes, sir" and "no, sir" when asked questions.  He was ordered held without bond.

Authorities offered no immediate motive for the shooting.  Several of Patgourtzis’ classmates-interviewed by Houston media-say he had been the subject of what they say was ‘bullying’.
