SCOTT AND WHITE HOSPITAL BRENHAM PREPARES

With all the attention around the Ebola scare, what steps are Scott and White in Brenham taking to keep the community, patients and doctors safe?

Scott and White administrator Michael Pittman says his hospital is following CDC guidelines, and are running drills in case a possible case would present itself.

Scott and White Brenham does not have the facilities to treat an Ebola patient, so if the patient is confirmed, they are immediately sent to Scott and White in Temple for treatment. The room the patient was in sealed, and if the person tested positive for Ebola, the proper CDC guidelines are used to disinfect the area.

  1. Is a lab test for Ebola done here? How much time does it take to be completed?
Is it tested in Brenham, or does it need to be sent to a specialized lab to check ELISA or IFA?

  2. The CDC has absolutely no idea what they are doing. They have had 38 years to figure out the protocol for this, yet what they are doing isn’t working. Might as well consult a witch doctor. I’m sorry, but I have no confidence in this administration or these so-called federal guidelines…
