SEALY ACQUIRES NEW EMERGENCY ROOM

Sealy has a new emergency room which opened on Sunday, and is a part of the Medical Clinics of Sealy facility.

The facility encompasses 6,000 square feet located at 1036 North Circle Drive that houses an ER and an imaging center that provides medical services not available in Sealy since the Sealy Hospital closed 20 years ago.

Dr. Barry Diner, the medical director the emergency room describes the new ER as a fully functioning, 24 hour, seven day a week emergency department with a hospital attached.

The emergency room will feature a CAT scanner, X-ray machine, 24 hour lab, ultrasound machine, blood lab and pharmacy, and one full trauma suite.

The facility is also capable of accommodating medical helicopters and has a hospital agreement with the Methodist Hospital in Houston as well as Memorial Hermann in Katy.

The center requires insurance or an ability to pay, and does not take patients with Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare due to laws regulating federal funding of specific facilities supported by that coverage.

The emergency room will treat anyone that comes through the door despite their ability to pay, which they are required to do medically and ethically.
