SEARCH FOR HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER IN COLLEGE STATION

  

A two-year-old child was hospitalized after she was hit by a vehicle after wandering into a College Station road – police continue their search for the driver who they say left the scene.

Police say the child was struck about 5:15 p.m Friday in the 900 block of Navarro Street.

Witnesses say the child was with other kids near the street, but got into the roadway before being hit by a mid-sized gold or silver sedan driven by a white female about 25-to-30-years-old with dark-colored hair.

Police say they could not find the suspect after a search of the area.

The child was taken to the College Station Medical Center with unspecified injuries.  No other details were given.
