SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE

One person is in custody after a high-speed chase led to a massive manhunt in Brazos County Tuesday night.

According to authorities, the chase began when a driver of a truck refused to pull over during a traffic stop on Highway 6. The chase proceeded from Brazos County into Grimes County and into the city of Navasota, before it headed back towards Brazos County.

The man was arrested at a bridge crossing the Navasota River near the Grimes-Brazos county line at about 6 p.m. His identity has not been released.

A high-speed chase has led to a massive manhunt in Brazos County.

According to KBTX TV, numerous agencies are searching for the driver of a truck that eluded authorities earlier Tuesday.

According to authorities, the chase began when the driver refused to pull over during a traffic stop.

The chase proceeded on Highway 6 from Brazos County into Grimes County and into the city of Navasota, before it ended up back in Brazos County near the Millican area.

The chase ended in Barker Prairie just south of Millican near FM 2154 and Highway 6. Law enforcement officials say the suspect ran off from the truck after it stopped.

He's described as a white male, 5'9", blonde hair and was wearing a light blue t-shirt.

Numerous law enforcement agencies are in the area looking for the suspect who may be hiding in the woods. A helicopter from the Department of Public Safety is assisting agencies involved in the search.
