SEARCH ON FOR LOCAL AUTO THIEF
The search is on for someone who stole a local man’s vehicle and then crashed it.
Saturday morning around 11:00, Officer Terrence Johnson responded to the 200 block of Alois Lane. The caller said sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday someone stole his 2000 Pontiac Grand Am.
The caller said he had left his keys in his vehicle, which he had done for years without any prior issues.
Sunday morning around 8:00, Washington County Deputy Ben Forman responded to the scene of an accident in the 9500 block of Old Chappell Hill Road.
The registration of the crashed vehicle came back to the man on Alois Lane.
No one was at the scene of the accident. No one was injured.
The investigation continues.
