SECOND ARREST IN CARJACKING CASE

  

A second person has been arrested in connection with the aggravated kidnapping and robbery of a Washington County man earlier this month.

39 year old Roy Edward Ates of Somerville was arrested Thursday at a College Station motel and is being held without bond at the Brazos County Detention Center.  Ates is the second person arrested in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of Adrian Cuellar of Brenham.  The other is 20 year old Allie Paige Rosenbaum of Brenham who is being held in the Burleson County jail en lieu of $70,000 bond.

Authorities say Cuellar was parked in his 2000 Ford Ranger in Lyons when he was carjacked at knife-point.  He was forced into a vehicle and later released in the Dime Box area of Lee County with minor injuries.  The kidnapping and robbery occurred just five days after Rosenbaum was arrested in Brenham for allegedly stealing her boyfriend’s car.
