SENATOR LOIS KOLKHORST LEGISLATIVE WRAP-UP FORUM

  

Texas Senator Lois Kolkhorst talked to a packed house today at the Legislative Wrap-up Forum at Blinn College.  The luncheon was put on by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.  Many business leaders were in attendance as well as educators from Brenham, Burton and Blinn College.  Kolkhorst opened with a rundown of bills from the legislative session.  She talked about what gets reported in the news verses what is really happening in Austin:

Kolkhorst also fielded questions submitted by the audience.  Several of the questions dealt with Senate Bill 6 or the “bathroom bill” which she authored.  She was asked why so much time was spent on the bill in both the regular session and the special session.  Kolkhorst explained that the bill really didn’t take as much time as the media led people to believe.  She also pointed out that it was an important debate to have:
