SEVEN ARRESTED FOR DRUG OFFENSES OVER WEEKEND

  

Brenham Police arrested seven individuals for various illegal drug offences after traffic stops this past weekend.

Friday afternoon, officer Jonathan Phipps stopped a vehicle on Highway 290 with a temporary license plate that was for another vehicle.  During an inventory of the vehicle, oxycodone, naproxen, and drug paraphernalia were found.  The driver, Delita Cordeliaq Jacobs, age 36 of Missouri City was arrested and charged with wrong license plate, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday evening, officer Ashley Burns stopped a vehicle on Blue Bell Road that had run a red light.  The driver appeared nervous and the officer could smell the odor of marijuana around the vehicle.  During a search of the driver, a baggy containing synthetic cannabinoid and drug paraphernalia were found.  Jaden Blake Besch, age 18 of New Ulm was arrested and charged with possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday at midnight, Cpl. Steven Eilert was called to the Walmart parking lot after being alerted by another officer that a vehicle almost struck his car.  They located the vehicle parked in a handicap space without proper identification.  The driver consented to a search and a baggie containing marijuana was found in his pocket.  Brandarion Cloud, age 17 of Brenham was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Saturday morning, Cpl. Justin Schiller conducted a traffic stop on South Market Street.  During the stop, he could see a baggy of what appeared to be marijuana near the center console.  A search of the driver also found several pills identified as Xanax and more marijuana in his shoe.  Arrested was Francisco Estrada, age 25 of Brenham.  He is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday evening, Cpl. Seth Klehm noticed a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 290.  When he approached the vehicle he could smell a sweet burnt odor.  The driver appeared to be highly intoxicated and as he opened the vehicle door, Klehm noticed a bag containing synthetic cannabinoids.  Cody Alexander Brown, age 22 of Brenham was arrested and charged with possession of synthetic cannabinoids, and public intoxication DWI, second offence.

Sunday morning Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer conducted a traffic stop on Jackson Street and found that the driver had an active warrant for his arrest.  During a search of the driver, a pill was found.  A search of the vehicle also produces a bag of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia.  The driver claimed that marijuana as his, but he and the passenger both denied ownership of the paraphernalia.  Both were then charged with possession of the paraphernalia.  Arrested were the driver, Scott Allan Younger, age 20 of Brenham and the passenger, Cutter Roy Stapleton, age 17 of Brenham.
