  1. WOW FD, you have a very negative attitude about anything anyone has said. I also applaud the police men and women for all they do. It’s amazing that some people find wrong in any and all things.

  2. Also making traffic stops also helps keep our streets safe. I live in a nice neighborhood and still these things happen. No way that 4 officers can cover the entire town and catch these criminals. Also you don’t know the reason why more than one officer shows up to a scene. It’s for the safety of the other officers and again with all the police hatred they never know what’s going to happen from call to call. They are suppose to have each others back. So don’t judge unless you have ALL the facts.

    1. Well said Police wife. What if there were no police? Everyone would make their own laws and the world would be horrible.I applaud police men and women and am thankful for what they do every day. I don’t understand how people can be so hateful and what really scares me is that those haters are teaching their kids to hate. What will that world look like? Instead of being so critical, why not start a neighborhood watch or become a citizen on patrol?

  3. My opinion is maybe the ones who think the police officers aren’t doing their jobs should maybe tu and do a ride along and see a typical 12 shift of an officer and see what their job really pertains to. I have done plenty and learned so much and have a new founded appreciation for what they do. My vehicle was stolen out of my drive way and mind you I live with a police officer. So it’s not always black and white and they can’t always patrol every st at every min to catch the losers that are doing this….so my advice is to educate yourself before making assumptions. So much police hatred nowadays I worry about him not even coming back home to me. So remember they are people too!

  4. If people wouldn’t be so lazy and actually get a job, there probably wouldn’t be as many burglaries. But as usual, it’s the same people time after time. Stop making the good people look so bad. I bet if it was your house being burglarized you wouldn’t complain then. Get a grip folks and be appreciative…

  5. Whenever we have had trouble in my neighborhood and I have asked the police to patrol they have done it. Sometimes they need a little help knowing where they are needed most. I’m no snitch, but there were some disturbing things happening in my ‘hood because of the actions of a few residents. When the patrols started, things got quieter and my stuff stayed where I put it.

    1. Mom you’re missing the whole
Point here! Police should be patrolling the neighborhoods without them having to be told! Their jobs consist of safety of the taxpayers in their city first VS writing citations. You or I should not have to call them to tell them to patrol our neighborhoods they should automatically do that especially at night!!!!!!

      1. Fd, you may feel differently if you were a cop. Of course it is their job to “serve and protect” but they can do their job better if they know where problem areas are. It is our duty as citizens to report suspicious activity, unless of course you don’t care if it is in your neighborhood. How many cops would it take to patrol all the neighborhoods in the area? It is an unreasonable expectation for them to be everywhere. We should all be thankful, encouraging and work together.

      2. Tell you what FD. Instead of being an arm chair quarter back why don’t you put down the remote control and the Cheetos and go to a police academy. It seems like you have it all figured out. Those men and women risk their lives every single day do you can be safe and type your ” opinions ” on your computer without you having to worry about getting hurt. All departments need citizen input to know which areas to concentrate more on. I don’t know when the last time it was that you pushed away from the computer and went outside but this is a lot of area for for people to cover. Oh and the traffic units who sit on the feeder roads and make their ” quotas ” don’t work at night.

  6. I have never seen a cop in my neighborhood in the 8 years I have lived there. I have had one or two follow me waiting for me violate a traffic law but never once seen an officer on patrol.

  7. I think that the police are spending too much time sitting on the feeder roads filling their quotas and not enough time patrolling the neighborhoods.

  8. Dear FD and others in doubt:

While sleeping last night a vehicle in a Brenham neighborhood was burglarized. Before the perpetrators could escape brave and dedicated Brenham PD officers caught ALL 4! I would say that the law enforcement in Brenham and all of Washington County does an excellent job! Thank you to all law enforcement officers for keeping us all safe!!

    1. Kathy point well made they caught the burglars after someone called in on them why? Again possibly because officers are not spending enough time patrolling the neighborhoods to catch them themselves. So my point again is stay off of 290 and patrol our neighborhoods!!!!!

  9. Well said FD. I couldn’t agree more. Another thing that might help is if when an officer is on a call, the entire force does not need to show up unless they need back up.

    1. I agree. No need for all four officers on duty to come intimidate teenagers to try and make a small and more or less pointless arrest(unless of course it happens to be rather serious) while there are burglaries happening.

  10. If officers would patrol
Residential areas instead of running up and down 290 they might catch a burglar eventually

    1. FD,
I see patrol cars through our residential area and saw them through the last residential area I lived in on several occasions…and both areas were nice quiet neighborhoods.
I obviously don’t follow the patrol officers around to see where they go throughout the day, but as far as I can tell in our neighborhood, they are watching out for the citizens of Brenham.
