SEVERE WEATHER IN BRAZOS VALLEY EXPECTED SUNDAY

The Brazos Valley has been deemed at moderate risk for severe weather on Sunday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

The center says all modes of severe weather are possible for Sunday including damaging wind gusts, large hail, and strong tornadoes. Heavy rain could also lead to localized flooding.

A “moderate risk” designation for severe weather is the 4th out of 5 categories in the scale of classifying severe weather. Anything above “slight risk”, or level 2, is considered significant.

The last time the Brazos Valley had a risk this high was in 2008.

The current moderate risk designation covers 44,598 square miles across parts of Central, East, and Southeast Texas, as well as West Louisiana.
