SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARREST IN FORGERY INVESTIGATION

A Washington County woman has been arrested in a forgery investigation.  Last Friday, investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office executed an arrest warrant on 35 year old Vanessa Cardenas Kapchinski at a residence in Burleson County.  Kapchinski was a suspect in a case where it was reported that numerous checks were forged. During the course of the investigation it was learned that the checks were cashed at numerous businesses in Washington County.

Kapchinski, a resident of Washington County, was arrested without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail. She was charged and booked in on 7 counts of Forgery, a 3rd degree felony and on a parole violation that was issued by Texas Board of Pardon and Parole.

Justice of Peace Doug Zwiener set the bond on the forgery warrants at $70,000 and a “no bond” was indicated on the parole warrant.

While being booked at the jail it was discovered that Kapchinski had 3 Failure to Appear warrants for charges ranging from Possession of a Controlled Substance, with bond set at $15,000, Possession of Marijuana, with bond set at $10,000, and Driving While License Invalid with previous convictions, with a bond of  $10,000.  Kapchinski is being held at the Washington County Jail for all charges with bonds totaling $105,000.
