SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEARCHING FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT SUBJECT
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for as subject charged for Sexual Assault of a Child.
According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on February 23 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into allegations of Sexual Assault of a Child. During the course of the investigation, Criminal Investigators conducted witness interviews along with a forensic interview of the victim. As a result, Investigators identified 37 year old Brenham resident Erick Sain Paniagua-Vera as the suspect and attempted to locate him.
After unsuccessful attempts locally, Investigators learned that on February 25, Paniagua-Vera had abandoned a vehicle at Hobby Airport in Houston, and fled to Mexico City the following day.
His current whereabouts are unknown and Investigators are currently working with the Texas Rangers and other agencies to locate him. Paniagua-Vera is currently wanted on the charge of Sexual Assault of a Child with a bond set at $500,000.
