SIXTY-NINE YEAR OLD MAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON CHARGES.

  

A 69-year old Brenham man could spend the rest of his life in prison after his arrest yesterday (Thursday) on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Brenham police were called to the scene in ther 200 block of Mulberry when neighbors reported that Maurice Johnson was allegedly beating his wife with a stick.

Friends took the wife to the Scott and White Hospital in Brenham for treatment.

Johnson was arrested for the aggravated assault and family violence charge.  His wife agreed to press charges.  The offense is a first degree felony with a punishment range from five to 99 years in prison.
