SMALL FARMS & VEGETABLE CONFERENCE NEXT MONTH IN AUSTIN CO.

  

The Horticulture Committee of Austin County will be sponsoring a Small Farms and Vegetable Conference in February in Cat Spring.

The event is set for Friday, February 23, at Cat Spring Ag Society Hall, with registration from 8:30-to-9:00 a.m., with the program to follow.

This year’s program will include topics such as, Vegetables 101, Aquaponics, Laws and Regulations Update, Insect Control, and Small Forage Management/Soil Fertility.

The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and last until about 3:00 p.m.  Lunch will be served and there will also be several snack breaks.

There will be 3 CEU’s guaranteed with a possible 5 CEU’s offered pending TDA approval to pesticide applicators.

Cost for the event is $30.00 per person, which goes to cover speaker materials, meal cost and the handouts.
