SNOOK ISD INSTRUCTOR FIRED AFTER VIDEO SHOWS HIM PUSHING STUDENT

The Snook ISD instructor caught on camera repeatedly pushing a child in a classroom has officially been fired from his position.snook1

In a statement Saturday afternoon, Snook Superintendent Brenda Krchnak, said the behavior specialist is no longer employed with the school district.

The video of the incident was posted online by a mother of a student on Thursday. It showed the man picking up a child and then pushing him into a bean bag. When the child resists, he grabs the child by the arm and brings him to his feet. Eventually, the man flips the child around and pushes him into the bean bag.

Superintendent Krchnak says she is ordering a review of Snook ISD faculty and staff use of discipline and restraint.

Snook ISD is now working with the Texas Education Agency and law enforcement in investigating the incident.

  1. I feel as if this was not appropriate behavior by this teacher. Children at this age do not respond well to this type of behavior. First of all, he is very young and second of all, he is front of his peers. If he has a mental illness as well, then this teacher did double wrong. Children crave positive attention and structure. When we give them these things, they respond better. I also feel as if we have a crisis with uninvolved parents. Parents are unattached to their children and do not teach them the ways of society. These children have no respect for authority and run amok. My son is in high school and he told me that he gets upset because in his classes he wants to ask questions on things he doesn’t understand but a lot of times he cannot because the teachers are having to deal with the disruptive students. Our schools need to go back to putting students first, not federal funding. Get these children out of the classroom when they are disruptive and taking time away from the students are doing their jobs correctly. Also, the teachers who are not doing their job right and/or are aggressive with students need to be removed from their jobs. I agree with Ms. Virgina. My children are at school to get an education, not for teachers to do what they wish.

  2. Some of these comments are rediculous. To those who believe this type of behavior is ok because “in the old days” we would have gotten worse. A lot of things happened in the old days doesn’t mean it was good. And to say because a teacher can’t decipline in this way a child will from now on be “disruptiv and learning will suffer”. Really. It is the parents to decide if corporal punishment or any other type of physical punishment should be used. Just because my child is in your presence does not mean they are yours to do what you want to them. All children at that age are disruptive at times and I bet if it was the teachers child he wouldnt like anyone doing that at all. The law is the law. All teachers are aware of it. If they do not like that they can’t do what they want to a “disruptive child” then get out the kitchen. If you do not have patience then why work with children and YOUR A BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST!!!!!Nobody is above the law . Teachers have other tools at there disposure to use instead of what this instructor did. Stop talking about what your life was like before, now is now. How dare anyone pretend they know the whole story. Y’all have now labeled this child disruptive. All we know is what is in the video and the teacher was clearly in the wrong. If he felt he did nothing wrong why did the teacher not call the parent after it happened immediately. Glad he was fired, he should not be allowed to teach again because he aparently believes it’s ok to treat someone elses child this way. And the next to go is the principle who deleted the video. That was a complete attemp to cover it all up.

  3. He is not actually disciplining this child ! I saw the video, and he was being abusive ! He was exerting his authority , not properly I might add. This s a very young child, and he was handling him like a grown man ! I believe in discipline, but not an abuse of authority !

  4. Even if this child disrupted the class ,there was no reason a teacher to continue to taunt him or put his hands on on him. Parents should have been called to see the child in action!

  5. “You can’t put your hands on a child”
I guess I should contact a attorney for all the corporal punishment I received in the school districts here when I was child. I learned to be quiet and behave eventually. Spare the rod and get a child that will not respect authority.
Watch the evening news and see how that works for ya.

    1. Back in the day when a student would act up in the classroom the teacher would make them go outside the room she/he would get another teacher to be a witness and they would light you up and make you go right back to your seat! I gotten my share of “paddling” from teachers, coaches (which were the worst, some had holes in the paddles) and principals. Eventually I wised up and figured I should start acting right. That’s what they need to bring back in schools.

      1. I know this child personally, he family and I are neighbors. This child is the most sweet child you’ll ever meet. I can’t say whether or not he was being disruptive but I do know that this child has a mental illness. Some things he do he is not aware of wether its right or wrong. You can clearly see in the video that he was confused. Regardless of the fact he was not supposed to put his hands on a student. Snook ISD does still have corporal punishment. He should have been sent to the principals office and his mother notified.

  6. The instructor just didn’t single the child out evidently he was disruptive. Theoretically now that child will go through the school system being disruptive in class and all the other children will miss out on learning because this child does not respect authority. The instructors will just sit idle in the class from now on and learning will suffer. He was not struck in any way. He was being taught to sit down and keep quiet during class. Be real people. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM IF YOU CAN’T SEE IT.

    1. If you watch the video, the teacher was taunting the child. He would tell him to sit down and then he would tell him to stand up. Regardless, you cannot put your hands on a child. In no way can this type of punishment be allowed in schools. I believe in punishment but there is a way that teachers are trained to handle this. Again, he was taunting the child!!!

  7. That’s Good Now They Needs To Fired The One That Deleting The Video Thought It Wasn’t Gonna Get Out I’m Glad It Did Ain’t No Telling How Long He Been Doing This To These Kids.

  8. This was very bad and I am glad the school took action. Criminal charges should also be filed against this individual. There is NO excuse for his actions but pure hatred.

    1. Im glad he got fired cause he was so wrong for putting his hands on that child then he pushed the child up side the child head but the other person should be fired for tampering with evidence
