SNOOK ISD TO HOLD TAX RATIFICATION ELECTION SATURDAY

  

The Snook Independent School District is holding a Tax Ratification Election this Saturday.

The Snook School Board of Trustees has called the election to ask the community to consider a change in how the district collects taxes in an attempt to maximize state funding. Snook ISD has proposed a change in the tax rate for the 2016-2017 school year that will require voter approval. The change will require a restructuring of the tax rate, but will not increase the amount citizens will have to pay in taxes.

The Board of Trustees says that the change would mean an additional $300,000 for the district annually.
