SNOOK & NAVASOTA VOTERS TO DECIDE SCHOOL BOND ISSUES

There are a number of key question on area ballots during today’s (Tuesday) election:

In Snook, voters will be deciding the fate of the School District’s $7.5 million bond issue.

Money from the bonds would be used for a variety of projects for Snook schools, including a new football stadium; new career and technology classrooms; cafeteria expansion and numerous other campus improvements.

The Navasota School District is holding a bond election with two proposals worth more than $61 million dollars.

If approved it would mean major upgrades including: new roofs for both the High School and Junior High as well as improvements for things like: fixing space issues at the gyms at Navasota Junior High, updated classroom space and getting rid of portable buildings at the high school.  Also, upgrades to the Brosig Auditorium.

There are also several contested races today for the School Boards and City Councils in Bryan and College Station.
