Chief Craig Goodman made the announcement during the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Brenham Pet Adoption Center on Monday.

Snowden began his career in Law Enforcement for the City of Brenham in January of 2004.  He completed his field training approximately 5 months later and was assigned as a Patrol Officer in the Patrol division.  Snowden was selected by the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association as the Officer of the quarter for the first quarter of 2006 after locating a vehicle involved in an aggravated robbery and arresting the three suspects.

He became a field training officer in 2006 and promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2008.  In 2012, John promoted to the rank of Sergeant and supervised a shift of 3 officers.  In April of 2013, John transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division, where he served as a Detective until September 2016 when he learned of the vacancy in the supervisor’s position at Animal Control.

He applied for the position and was named as the interim supervisor for the City of Brenham Animal Services.  John hopes to become the full time supervisor of Brenham’s Animal Services.  Since being named the interim supervisor, Brenham Animal Services has moved into its new home at the Brenham Pet Adoption Center.
