SOMERVILLE MAYOR RESIGNS

  

After just a few months on the job, the mayor of Somerville is stepping resigning.

Mayor Ken Tharp is stepping down after less than a year in the position.

Tharp submitted a letter to the city late last week, in which he wrote: "while it has been a learning experience to serve my community, due to matters of family and business, I must resign my position."

Tharp also served as the city manager for four months.

The city council is scheduled to officially accept his resignation at their next council meeting.
