SOMERVILLE RESIDENTS TO VOTE ON 3RD BOND PROPOSAL FOR NEW ELEMENTARY

Somerville residents can vote today (Saturday) for a third time on a new bond proposal for a new elementary school. The two previous bond proposals have failed.

As the current elementary is over 70 years old, Somerville residents will have the chance to vote today (Saturday) on a bond package of more than $11 million for the building of a new elementary school and district cafeteria while relocating the baseball fields to the rest of the athletic fields.

If the bond is approved, construction would start next spring with the new school opening in the fall of 2018.

Voting will take place at the school Administration building from 7:00am to 7:00pm today (Saturday).
