SPORTS DIRECTOR ED POTHUL RECOVERING

Long-time KWHI Sports Director Ed Pothul is recovering from a stroke at College Station’s Scott & White Hospital.

Pothul began experiencing numbness on his left side last Friday, and drove to the emergency room at Scott & White Hospital in Brenham.  He was transferred later that evening to their College Station Hospital, where he has been undergoing tests.  Depending on the outcome of further testing, Pothul could have surgery for a partially blocked artery in his neck later this week.  It could be several weeks before he returns to the air, as he must undergo several weeks of physical therapy.

Pothul is in his 26th year as KWHI and KTTX Sports Director and play by play voice of local sports.
