SPRING FOOTBALL COACH/PLAYERS SUSPENDED

Officials in the Spring school district have suspended two head coaches and 11 players after an on-field brawl between players of both teams cut short game, Friday.

They also decided that Spring and cross-district rival Spring Westfield must both take forfeits in the game. Both teams were previously undefeated when the brawl erupted midway through the game with Westfield leading Spring 36-25.

Superintendent Rodney Watson and athletic director Willie Amendola said the Spring and Westfield head coaches will be suspended for one game, one Spring player for three games, one Spring and four Westfield players for two games and three Spring and two Westfield players for one game. Each player must also complete 25 hours of community service this school year.
