Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church of Brenham

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church of Brenham will bless their new icons that portray the Stations of the Cross, this Sunday, February the 7th at the 10:30am service.

Saint Peter’s member, Jeff Terrel, with the help of his friend and collaborator, Jeanette Willis, both of Bellville, created the eggshell and gold leaf mosaic icon images of the Stations of the Cross depicting in detail each event that they Bible says occurred to Jesus on the way to his crucifixion.

After Terrel’s retirement in 2012, he took on the project of creating the images portraying the 14 scenes. He says “It took about six weeks working two to four hours a day to finish the larger icon panels.”

The public is invited to attend a special session entitled “Icons: Making and Use” given by Dr. Terrel and Rev. David Ottsen Sunday, February 14th at 9:15am. Afterwards, anyone can drop by the church office and ask to view the images.

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church is located at 2310 Airline Drive and for further information, call 979-836-7248 or go to www.StPetersBrenham.org.
