STANPAC ANNOUNCES BRENHAM FACILITY LAYOFFS

Another Brenham business has announced layoffs at their facility.

Forty seven people at the Stanpac plant in Brenham are being laid off in response to the layoffs at Blue Bell.

Stanpac Co-Presidents Matt Witt and Andrew Witt met with employees in Brenham earlier today and conveyed the unfortunate news that a number of employees would be laid off until such time that orders increase.

“Our employees are second to none here at Stanpac and we are so saddened to have to make this decision” commented Mr. Witt.

Although some production has been rerouted from the Canadian operation it has not been enough to keep the equipment running on a full schedule.

“We have all the confidence in the world that over time business levels will continue to increase and that we will put this unfortunate event behind us” said Witt.

This layoff comes on the heels of other layoffs in the county, including Blue Bell, Valmont and MIC in Brenham.
