The University of Texas is asking the state Supreme Court to block a sex and race discrimination lawsuit filed by former women's track coach Bev Kearney.

Kearney was forced out in 2013 after the school learned about a romantic relationship with one of her athletes a decade earlier.

Two lower courts have allowed her case to proceed.

The university's recent appeal says Kearney's evidence doesn't support her discrimination claims. The school also says her case would change the legal standards used for when state agencies could be sued.

  1. Shame on her. Playing the race card when she had an inappropriate relationship with one of her athletes some 30 years younger than her. She abused her power as a coach to fulfill her twisted desires and now she seeks to blame others for her actions.

    1. It’s a Shame that people who Know they are Wrong want to Complain and then they Expect Special Privileges, It’s a Shame that this Behavior is More Ramp-id at Tax Dollar Supported Entities. Federal Government, State Government, and Local City Government; and these people are Supervisors, Directors, and Managers. I do Not want my Tax Dollars to be Entrusted to Anyone who Cannot control Themselves at Work. If you Can Not Control Yourself at Work; then Do Not have Control of Tax Dollars or other People. And if your Lucky to Keep your Job or even get a Promotion; You still will Loose the Respect of Others, since you Did Not Deserve the Respect from the Beginning ..You Just Got Caught and are Still Getting Away With It..and People Know It Too (Unfortunately Spouses are Usually the Last to Know).
