STATE REP. CANDIDATES FORUM TONIGHT ON KWHI

The first of two KWHI candidates’ forums is scheduled for tonight.

All of the candidates running for District 13 State Representative, five Republicans and one Democrat, are expected to attend the first forum tonight (Wednesday) at 5:30 p.m. at Brenham National Bank.

Expected to be in attendance are Republican candidates David K. Stall of Fayette County, Daniel McCarthy of Washington County, Ben Leman of Grimes County, and Jill Wolfskill and Marc. S. Young of Austin County.  Democrat Cecil Webster of Fayette County, who does not have an opponent in the Primary, will also attend.

KWHI will broadcast tonight’s Forum live on AM 1280, kwhi.com, and on Suddenlink cable channel 20.  Questions for the candidates will be taken from those in attendance, from listeners’ emails, and from the news media.

Next Wednesday, KWHI will host a forum for all of the candidates in contested Washington County races.

KWHI will be accepting questions for the candidates today by email at mail@kwhi.com.

  1. How convenient that this newly created position at taxpayers expense will allow for more late lunches at Austin state house.

    1. Enough said, Yes this is a problem that was created by Leighton, that will come at taxpayer expense. I believe in fufilling our obligations to the community. If a special election is called with late entries it will be a detriment to the voters.

  2. So here is why he left his seat so fast . From Blinn. Email just sent out to employees
“Former State District 13 Representative Leighton Schubert will join the General Counsel’s Office on Monday, February 5th, and report to General Counsel Ted Hajovsky. Mr. Schubert will serve as the College’s legal counsel, with responsibilities that include both legal and governmental affairs.”
