STORMS, LIGHTNING CAUSE NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES

The severe weather moved through the area yesterday evening caused numerous power outages.  Bluebonnet Electric spokesperson Will Holford stated that they had widespread outages throughout their service area with the largest being at the Lyle Wolz substation near Deanville effecting 860 customers.

Holford noted that the majority of the outages were caused by lightning striking their lines.  Bluebonnet crews worked through the night to restore power to customers and at 7 this morning they were reporting only 2 small outages left to repair.  The total number of customers out at the peak of the storms is still being compiled by Bluebonnet.

Holford said Bluebonnet would like to remind customers that outage information is available on their web site bluebonnetelectric.coop

Holford noted that outage information from Bluebonnet Electric is also available on Facebook and Twitter.
