SUMLIN TABS ALLEN AGGIE STARTER
Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin announced Monday that sophomore Kyle Allen will start the Aggies season opener September 5 against Arizona State.
Allen beat out freshman Kyler Murray and Blinn transfer Jake Hubenak for the starting spot.
Allen started the final five games, taking over for Kenny Hill as Aggies quarterback last season, throwing for 1,322 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Murray is the highly-touted dual threat freshman from Allen, while Hubenak led the NJCAA with 4052 yards and 47 touchdowns in just eight games.
The Aggies and Sun Devils meet Saturday, September 5th at NRG Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is set for 6:00…5:00 pre-game on KWHI.
