TEMPORARY DOG PARK TO OPEN SOON

A temporary dog park could be opened in Washington County by the end of this week.

Animal Friends of Washington County say fencing at their park on Highway 36 north was knocked down by the recent storms.

Animal Friends officials say they have been working toward opening a scaled down version.

Fencing around the park for smaller dogs is being repaired.

Dogs will also be able to use an area that had been set aside for agility training

The large dog park, which includes a pond, will remain closed.

Animal Friends officials said the park for large dogs will eventually be relocated away from the area that has flooded, probably closer to the organization’s spay/neuter clinic.

Animal Friends is also taking donations to help make repairs to the dog park.

Donation information is available on its website at www.AFVET.org.
