TEXAS A&M CRITICIZES ‘ALT-RIGHT’ LEADER SCHEDULED TO SPEAK AT SCHOOL

Officials at Texas A&M University are saying they didn’t invite a leader of an “alt-right” movement who is scheduled to speak at the school in early December.

According to the campus newspaper, The Battalion, a former student invited Richard Spencer to speak.

Spencer leads a group called the National Policy Institute and is a leader of a movement seen as a mix of white nationalism, populism, and racism. Spencer made national news earlier this week when a video of an alt-right conference in Washington D.C. emerged online. At the end of the speech, Spencer is heard saying “Heil Trump, heil our people, heil victory”, to which several members of the audience gave the Nazi salute.

Texas A&M says Spencer’s views contradict the school’s core values and emphasizes that the university "does not endorse his rhetoric in any way."

Spencer will likely be permitted to speak because members of the public can reserve campus space for events. Spencer's speech at Texas A&M is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th in Rudder Tower.

  1. I have a problem with those who are quick to criticize the National Policy Institute, but have no problem with “LA RAZA” (“THE RACE”), Black Lives Matter, LULAC, The New Black Panthers, Black Entertainment Television. Their silence about these “organisations speaks volumes.

    1. I have a problem with all of those organizations, including NPI. Racism is deplorable in all forms. It is a shame that those other organizations don’t get as much negative press as Richard Spencer, but that does not excuse his actions and beliefs.
