TEXAS ARTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND

Downtown Brenham is gearing up for the 2nd Annual Texas Arts and Music Festival this weekend.

Three days of music, artists, vendors and fun begin this Friday night throughout the streets of Downtown Brenham.  The Texas Arts and Music Festival is free to the public, and features four stages of live entertainment, an art village, pop-up art galleries and live mural paintings.

World-renowned artist Jeff Soto will be painting a mural on the back side of the three-story Faske building at 114 East Alamo.  Soto has painted murals all over the world, including New York, L.A., London, Paris and Tokyo. Festival board member Doug Cason is excited about bringing Soto and the other mural artists coming to Brenham.

The music lineup features bands from across Texas, including Folk Family Revival, The O’s, Jomo and the Possum Posse, Moving Panoramas, The Mighty Orq, Beau Hinze and the Backporch Shufflers, and Shane Cooley and the Midnight Girls.  The bands will play on four stages located at Home Sweet Farm, Brazos Valley Brewery, Roux Street, and the main stage in the parking lot at Commerce and Park Streets.  Festival organizer Brad Stufflebeam says they have a diverse lineup this year.

The Festival is free, but you can buy VIP tickets to gain access to the VIP tent and special tastings from area chefs.  For more information and a complete schedule of events, visits www.texasartsandmusicfestival.com.
