Texas has been awarded the Gold Shovel Award for promoting new job growth and business investment.
The annual award, given out by Area Development Magazine, recognizes states that drive job creation and investment opportunities, as well as promote business-friendly practices. This is the sixth time Texas has won a Gold Shovel Award.
Area Development says that NTT Data Services in Plano created more than 6,000 new jobs on its own. An additional 4,000 jobs were created by USAA, UPS, and McGregor. Nutribiotech USA’s expansion in Garland is expected to create another 1,600 jobs.
The magazine also cites Texas’ success in petroleum and chemical production, and its growth in technology industry.
