TEXAS LT. GOVERNOR CANDIDATE MIKE COLLIER TALKS WITH KWHI

Mike Collier

Texas Lt. Governor candidate Mike Collier was in Brenham Wednesday and spoke with KWHI about some of the issues in the campaign.  Collier said that he expects to easily win the Democratic Primary in March and is focusing his campaign on the November General Election.  Collier will be facing Republican Dan Patrick, who has been Lt. Governor since 2015.

KWHI spoke with Collier on a number of issues, here are his responses:

Question: Property Tax Reform and School Financing are a hot button topic right now.  What are your ideas?

Question:  You have proposed establishing an Audit, Performance, and Integrity Commission (APIC) as a solution to waste and corruption in state government.  How would it operate and how would you keep it independent?

Question: Immigration and Border are really a Federal Issue, but the state is also involved.  What is your position on these issues?

Question: You will be running against Republican Dan Patrick.  No Democrat has won a statewide election in Texas for the past 24 years.  How will you overcome this?

What’s your Reaction?
